R. David Jackson has over 20 years of legal experience, and has represented both public and private clients in Florida during his legal career. His practice involves governmental law, environmental permitting, water use and coastal issues, and regulatory compliance matters. He has concentrated his practice on assisting municipalities, independent special fire control districts, and community development districts with various including public procurement and contractual issues. He is Board Certified by the Florida Bar in City, County & Local Government Law. David previously worked as Assistant General Counsel for the Southwest Florida Water Management District and as a civil engineer.
Born and raised in Bradenton, David is a second-generation native of Manatee County. He has been very involved in his community having previously volunteered as a mentor with Big Brothers/Big Sisters, serving on the Board of Directors of the Tampa Bay Regional Chapter for the American Red Cross, and as the Chairperson for the Myakka Conservancy. Currently, he is the Chairperson for the Leadership Manatee Board of Governors, and also serves on the Executive Board of Directors for the Braden River Soccer Club and the United Soccer Association. In his free time, David enjoys baseball, music, and spending time with his family.
